Sufyān b. ‘Uyainah – Allah have mercy on him – said:

 

The first step in knowledge is to listen, then to be quiet and attentive, then to preserve it, then to put it into practice and then to spread it.

Knowledge Is More Precious than Wealth

    One of the Salaf said: “Never leave a good deed because of its difficulty, for the difficulty will eventually go but the deed will remain forever. Never do a bad deed because of its pleasure/enjoyment, for the pleasure/enjoyment will eventually go but the deed will remain forever.” []   ‘Alee Ibn Abee Taalib (RA) said: “ Verily knowledge is more precious than wealth . Knowledge   preserves you, while you preserve wealth. Knowledge judges while wealth is judged upon. The possessors of wealth have died, while the possessors of knowledge live on.
